Furnace Repair

Nearly 70 years of fire against the cold

Heating service for natural or LP gas, fuel oil, electric or geothermal systems

This may be hard to believe but when your heating or cooling system has stopped working it isn't really 'broken'. How can that be? Because most systems have at least a handful of controls and one of them has the job of shutting it down when something's not right.

That's where we come in, we'll find out the what and why of your troubles. Every time.

A&B Heating wants you to know that a heating system is basically a fire that's burning in your basement. A&B’s job for over 69 years has been to keep the fire under control. You see, fire is a survivalist, it wants to live. If a furnace is dirty or plugged up, the fire will go looking for oxygen wherever it can find it and that leads to flame in all the wrong places.

How To Tell If You Need a Furnace Repair

If you have to continually turn your furnace temperature up or notice that your home is still cold while your furnace is running, you may need a furnace repair. There are many other symptoms that reveal the need for a furnace repair. Read below to discover the symptoms of a furnace needing repair.

  • Abnormal odors: When you start your furnace for the first time in the fall or winter, it is likely that it can smell like the fuel it uses. The smell usually goes away as the unit runs and adjusts to running again. If your furnace has a strong odor around the unit or an odor that appears suddenly, you may have a furnace problem that needs a repair.

  • Unit won't start: Most heating or cooling units will have trouble starting as they age due to wear and tear. If you have to try multiple times to start the unit or restart your furnace throughout the day, you likely need a repair.

  • Inadequate heat: As previously stated, one of the most obvious signs that a furnace needs repair is when it stops doing its job properly. If your furnace is producing little or no heat, you need a furnace repair.

  • Poor air quality: A poorly maintained system may move dirt, bacteria, and other foreign particles throughout your home along with the heated air. A furnace repair or filter replacement can solve this.
